CONTINUING EDUCATION COMPLAINT PROCEDURE
When a participant, either orally or in written format, files a complaint and expects action on the complaint, the following actions will be taken.
1. If the complaint concerns a speaker, the content presented by the speaker, or the style of presentation, the individual filing the grievance will be asked to put his/her comments in written format. The Conflict Resolution Group will then pass on the comments to the speaker assuring the confidentiality of the complainant.
2. If the complaint concerns a conference, workshop, or seminar offering, its content, level of presentation, or the facilities in which the workshop was offered, the program chair will mediate and will be the final arbitrator. If the participant requests action, the Conflict Resolution Group Lead will:
A. provide a credit for a subsequent year’s program; or
B. provide a partial or full refund of the program fee.
3. If the complaint concerns a WPACPT CE program, in a specific regard, the Conflict Resolution Group will attempt to arbitrate in consultation, when appropriate, with the program planner. In the event that the complaint is against a member of the Conflict Resolution Group, the Group member will be required to recuse him/herself for consideration of the specific complaint.
Complaints can be submitted to the Conflict Resolution Group by emailing Inquiries@WPACommunity.org or writing to Western Pennsylvania Community for Psychoanalytic Therapies, 128 North Craig Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Chair of the Conflict Resolution Group is David Orbison, PhD.
